Kids, Parents, Tradition in the Face of Fast Track American Life

"All morality consists in a system of rules, and the essence of all morality is to be sought for in the respect which the individual acquires for these rules."

*********************************************************************************
We had a beautiful session with some Sunday school kids at Los Angeles Buddhist Vihara and both the kids and their parents enjoyed the event which was full of fun and creative activities. We had a Vandana prayer, a Meditation session, a picture portrait session, a Powerpoint session on Life of the Buddha, a Quizlet Live Game and a Discussion on the value of parents. Hopefully these young children could learn something for their life and would be able to retain the lessons from the event.

Here are the creative art fo these little kids of different ages. Self portrait and some words about themselves, their parents and the temple experience. The revelation of the kids was touching as they all expressed great happiness to be at the temple and they all had such a high regard and love for their parents. The kids were from age 5 to age 15 and yet their creativity never lacks the quality and talent.
